Narendra Kumar Jain was born in Kairana, India in September 1936. He worked as a Civil Engineer in UP PWD for 30+ years. He moved to Fairfax, Virginia in 1996 after his retirement from PWD. One of his dreams after moving to US was to build a Digamber Jain temple in Northern Virginia. Narendra founded International Digamber Jain Organization (IDJO) for this specific purpose. He started inspiring people to “donate $1 per day” to become an IDJO member and give life to this dream. He worked tirelessly for over ten years prior to finding the Murdock Street land as a potential temple site. He purchased this land in March 2014. Seven months later, when it had been established as a viable temple site, he transferred the property to IDJO for the purpose of building the temple. |
